Terms of Service

1. Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of ubec.network and all associated UBEC Commons platform services (collectively "the platform"). By accessing or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

2. Nature of the platform

UBEC Commons is a non-commercial, open-source, community-driven project. The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It is a living, actively developing project — features, content, and services may change, be added, or be removed without prior notice.

No guarantees are made regarding uptime, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.

3. Blockchain and token interactions

Interactions with the UBEC DAO Protocol on the Stellar blockchain are irreversible. Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed, refunded, or modified once confirmed. You are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of any transaction you initiate.

UBEC tokens (UBEC, UBECrc, UBECgpi, UBECtt) are utility tokens representing participation in the commons. They are not financial instruments, investment products, or securities. They carry no guaranteed monetary value.

4. User conduct

Users of the platform agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, harm, or exploit platform infrastructure
• Misrepresent their identity or affiliation
• Upload or transmit malicious code or harmful content
• Use the platform to harass, harm, or discriminate against others

5. Intellectual property and licensing

All content on ubec.network is published under CC BY-SA 4.0 unless otherwise stated. All source code is published under GNU AGPL v3.0. You are free to use, adapt, and redistribute content and code under these licences, provided you credit UBEC Commons and share any derivatives under the same licence.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Michel Garand and UBEC Commons shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, token value, or business opportunity.

7. Third-party services

The platform integrates third-party services including the Stellar blockchain network, senseBox IoT devices, and Google Fonts. Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. UBEC Commons is not responsible for third-party services.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction is Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The current version is always available at ubec.network/terms.html.
